When did you first start writing?
I started around age 15. I wrote almost two notebooks of poetry and lot of short stories and mini/micro stories in next two years. In those days, I used to write in Punjabi, my mother-tongue. Then, one day I threw it all away.
I believe stories were okay but most of poetry was rubbish. I was growing up. It was all utopian dream. My father never liked it. He wanted me to earn good money as engineers or administrators were supposed to do. My family’s financial condition was bad so he wasn't wrong but as long as he was alive I kept rebelling but after his death there was no one to oppose. So I fell in line and threw it all away. Poetry was deserving of it, anyway.
