Jason Maurer

Biography

I started writing when I was eleven or twelve, when my mother bought me one of those cheap toy knockoffs of a laptop, but the good thing about it was the kid-friendly version of a word processor. Basic as basic could get, but I made my first attempt at writing a story, something cheesy about friends getting lost in the forest.

The things I write range from the tongue-in-cheek to the very serious. My goal is to write at least one story in each major genre.

Great short read, and leaves me wanting more [which is, of course, a good thing]. The premise is fun, and leads to some interesting conversation. I'd love to see more of what happens to the characters.
  • Let's Eat Daddy on July 27, 2012

This short story is creepy, hands down. Definitely one to tell around a camp fire, or on those nights when the electricity goes out and all you have are candles.
  • Slocomb's Pond on July 27, 2012

Wow. Another great story to be told sitting around a campfire. Kept me wondering at each turn what the secret was. As the story came to a close, I had those delicious chills running up and down my spine.
  • Perfect Crime on July 28, 2012

I loved it- was a fast read, packed a bit of punch. Sure, the end was predictable, but that didn't mean it was any less of a good story.
  • In The Company of Angels on July 28, 2012

Wow, there isn't much to be said about the story other than the word "Aww!" Lots of emotion and thought in the story. I'm glad I picked it up.
