James K. Moore

Biography

James K. Moore (°1981, Chicago, United States) is an author/poet who mainly works with contemporary writing. By applying a poetic and often metaphorical language, Moore wants to amplify the astonishment of the spectator by creating compositions or settings that generate tranquil poetic images that leave traces and balances on the edge of recognition and imagination.

His conceptual poems are often classified as part of the new romantic movement because of his desire for the use of passion and romance in his work. In a search for new methods to 'express himself,' he focuses on the idea of 'openness and intimacy' more specifically on the complexity of what we call 'love': the non-emotional space, the emotional space, space that is spiritual.

His haiku poems appear as dreamlike images in which fiction and reality meet, well-known tropes merge, meanings shift, past and present fuse. Time and memory always play a key role. By referencing romanticism, love and adversity, he creates work through labor-intensive processes which can be seen explicitly as a personal reflection of what he views as life. They are inspired by a twenty-first-century tradition of poetry, in which individuals easily express themselves via rants and raves on social media.

His works are often about romance with life and basic living elements. Love (romance, passion, sex), life and landscape are examined in less obvious ways and sometimes developed into mysterious portraits painted on a paper canvas. James K. Moore currently lives and works in Chicago, IL USA.
