Jessi Schultz

Jessi Schultz is a writer in love with seeing the world through varying angles. Much of her writ-ing is typed on a vintage Hermes 3000, though she enjoys iPhone photography capabilities. She writes experimental, romantic non-fiction, short stories and poetry in all directions of themes.

Jessi’s true novel in the making is without par-ticular theme. Instead, it is a documentation of life through her perception. She has lived in both Virigina andHawaii, yet continues to travel.

She is influenced by Anais Nin, Henry Miller, Jack Kerouac, Sylvia Plath and Allen Ginsberg. There are countless others, but those names stay on top of her list. Nature fills her with interest while, people tend to bring on anxiety with ex-periences: drug addiction, lies, lostness, travel, a naked mind as well as body, and surrender. Some mornings, she has to force herself to write about anything just because it’s another way she can breathe. Jessi can feel dejected and happy in the same moment. She can feel sympathy and distrust all the same. It comes out easier on paper.

A trip to the beach could take her to memory or to new ideas and just a ride on her bicycle away, dreams lay hidden in plain sight. She keeps a journal on her to write notes and stones. Lines from the journal sometimes go into novels, but never the other way around.
