Jestin Lightner

Biography

I learned how to play guitar from the devil himself. I wrote short stories and stuff throughout the years and they were mostly oriented around the planes because planescape was cool back in the nineties and spelljammer was old. I also wrote a five hundred page poetry book based on love and LSD trips back in the nineties while I was playing in a band called Hollow and plotting to take over the music world from a garage and a donut shop. Whatever, later on in life I was sittin in jail and was like, wtf, I can write better than this crap they are force feeding us and so I started to finish The Shadowbelt after first developing the idea way back in the day and throwing up some chapters online back in my Ft. Myers days. Unfortunately the last half of the book went missing cause I'm a cluts so I have cut the second part back a bit and have rewritten it in a way cool fashion and it has taken a completely different turn for the better. Really happy with the results so please feel free to check out "The Shadowbelt 2 "Divided Wings". It's been an honor overall and I hope that even if you end up not liking my books you will at least get turned on to some cool music while you are here.

Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Grew up in 954, Ft. Lauderdale area, for what seemed like forever. Always had role playing groups or bands to do my thing with and that has obviously inspired much of my stuff.
When did you first start writing?
In the sixth grade I read Cycle of the Werewolf by Stephen King and so I set out to write a short story for english class about werewolves that I entitled "Terror To All". I only got an A- because the language in it was not suitable for a school project. It was pretty OK for my age though as the teachers passed it around and all gave me a their own review of it.
