Smashwords Interview

What are your five favorite books, and why?
The Little Friend by Donna Tartt. Love this book for the aura, the dreamy tone of the setting that let's me feel as if I am there, down in the dangerous and sleepy South.

Five Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris. Again, love the setting of the historical WWI Europe and later. In both these books, we are in the point of view of a young woman, though in this one, also switches to the point of view of her old woman self and what she has learned.

Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercy. Love this reality mixed with fantasy glimpse into how the mentally ill have been treated and how what looks utopia can be not what it seems.

Pet Semetary by Stephen King. Love all his books--this was my first horror book, read while in bed recovering from dental surgery so I was already in a horrible state!

Silence of the Lambs and the whole Dexter series. For the creative genius of the authors!
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I use an iPhone and an iPad most of the time. Love that you can take notes about the books to print out later if needed. Read The Goldfinch like that on my iPad in Ireland summer 2014, to prepare for the first class in the Stanford online Novel Writing Certificate program.
