Retired former software engineer. Don't miss it a bit. Enjoy writing always have. Up to now, it's just been lyrics looking for music, but somehow I was inspired to write a story that turned into a novel.
When did you first start writing?
I have been writing since college. For several decades I wrote song lyrics. For the last seven years I have been working on my first novel, "The Redemption Zone", which started out as a short story and became something much bigger.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I am not a religious person, not even spiritual. However, while running I came up with the title "The Redemption Zone" and the premise "inspiring a non-believer to believe in God" simply out of nowhere. Like divine inspiration. So now you could say I have "doubts about my doubts", otherwise, why would that idea just pop into my head?
Software tycoon Michael Zimmerman is an accomplished and decent man and a devout atheist. A fatal heart attack brings him to the Hereafter where he learns his lack of faith denies him entry into Heaven. However, God gives Michael one last chance at redemption. If he can return to earth and restore faith to a chosen non-believer, he’ll earn his salvation; otherwise, his soul will be forever damned.
