How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
By showing me that if you curse your way through uploading a book for your sister, it is quite possible to determine that you will never do it for yourself while she sits weeping distractedly in the corner. But it's not going to be easy with a vengeful spirit around ...
Part of an anthology of space elevator stories limited to 4,000 words.
Irena Dem has been offered a free ticket on the first space elevator. She's not sure why; but the situation is critical and – even more curious – the World Space Agency didn't summon her to the meeting. They came to her. She's not sure about that either. But one thing Irena is very sure of: Nothing in life is free.
Murder Mystery Short Story.
New York detective Carl Simeon has no family on the planet. Each day is a battle against his suicidal inner demons. Meanwhile, there's a new serial killer on the rise.
But when the two meet face to face, the shocking revelations that the killer brings to light forces Carl to face death in the cruellest way.
One which he could never have imagined.
Or wished for.
