J. J. Welsh

Biography

I took early retirement from Sunderland City Council in March 2012.

After writing a few articles for several publications, I now write a regular weekly piece for the internet magazine 'Inside Futbol' offering betting advice and writing match reviews. I also write 3 articles per week for a sports based internet site.

Although I am now 57, I am fit and healthy, have no medical problems, and take regular exercise in cycling and road running. I recently completed Great North Run half marathon.

I have passed with merit the CTJT on-line course in Freelance Journalism.

I have a lot of experience of football and reckon this is a topical issue with so many foreign players now having the opportunity to enter the English football leagues. It is a battle to gain success over adversity for this young African. With this being a World Cup year, there may be more interest in football issues.

I think it will prove popular with football fans and general readers alike and there could be sufficient material for a similar follow up book, as I may be spending some time helping the ICSS (International Centre for Sports Security) in near future.

I have been an avid reader myself, and have followed novels by Frederick Forsyth, David Baldatchi, John Grisham and Tom Rob Smith in addition to biographies.
