Joe Moncarz co-founded and was the principal of the Deep Green Bush-School. He has more recently founded Rewild to Survive in order to teach survival skills to adults. Joe has written essays, screenplays, a short novel, and has also written stage plays, winning a New Zealand national award for “Another Stupid Wall” (a comedy about the Israel-Palestine conflict) and for “The Wayfinder” (a drama celebrating traditional Polynesian culture.) He also likes to camp, hike, run, practice and teach tai chi, sing, play guitar, and relax on the beach.
This is the story of one of the most radical and revolutionary schools of recent times, giving students freedom in nature, raising Earth-warriors, and teaching them how to challenge civilization. But it was attacked from the inside, by a dangerous personality whose endless sabotaging of the school was a reflection of the inherent problem of civilization: civilizations are all narcissist factories.
