As an avid female diver, I always look for a good sea story with a strong female protagonist,…(which means I don’t find them very often at all, except for Remi Fargo from the Cussler series, of courese). I was also growing pretty tired of the one (male) CIA agent that saves the world,…so I was happy to find “Bone Crushing Deep” and Li Ping – THIS is a girl I can get behind!! Darrow’s unusual techno-thriller, adventure novel is definitely unique, since no one has ever used a deep sea diving team as the main protagonists. They are (to say the least) unusual characters, set in very dangerous situations….and (BONUS) they HATE the CIA. Darrow’s storytelling style is simple but pretty enjoyable (and the dialogue sounds realistic). The quips and jokes had me laughing (out loud, sometimes) and the suspenseful operations held my attention until the end I highly recommend Darrow’s first book and look forward more, strong female team members on the Tube.
