Josie Peterson

Biography

I am an actress and a writer who worked on stage in Manhattan for about 13 years, and had my classical play Tristan & Isolde produced in town during the summer of 2010, along with debuting some of my comedic material found in Evelyn Dunbar and Other Comedies. I also had the pleasure of working on two of the smartest and well-acted independent films, while I was busy on the off-off Broadway boards in New York from 1997--2010. These films were the feature Beyond the Pale and the short Morning Fall.

At the moment, in addition to auditioning, I’m working on a serialized novelization of one of my film scripts for www.channillo.com.

Various brief videos of my work can be seen on my You Tube Channel, TheJosiePeterson. One of my early one act plays, Alpha & Omega, may be gotten hold of and read via the special collections department at Stanford University Library in California.

For next year, I hope to create a few new and interesting videos of my long-form comic monologues, and have them available to all via YouTube.

Tristan & Isolde, a play adaptation of the early medieval Tristan saga, retells the famous 12th century European legend about a tragic love triangle. The story focuses on the drama of warrior Tristan, his loyalty to his uncle, King Mark of Cornwall, and the events aboard a ship that are to bring Tristan and Irish Princess Isolde together in forbidden love.
