Smashwords Interview

How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I usually discover eBooks through Facebook, Instagram, and just researching online. Usually, they take me to the author's landing page where I have to give my email address in exchange for the info I'm looking for. If I want the info bad enough, I give my email then to only get bombarded later with annoying ads and attempts to upsell me. Yet, despite that, most of these books have been invaluable in my learning journey in writing, publishing, and marketing.
What is your writing process?
It always starts with an idea, of course. I then think on that idea incessantly for some time. I map out topics and chapters in my head. I try to think of a good title because then it takes on life and motivates me to keep going. I imagine a nice cover and I see the book. I then know that I can do this.
Next, I sit down and scratch out a working table of contents in a Word doc. I try to make it look like it's real, again, for motivation. This table of contents changes many times, but I need some overall structure to see where to start and where to go. In the meantime, during normal life, I'm doing all and any research needed.
I outline each chapter before writing. Again, this changes as I write but the outline gives me structure, coherency, and direction. I usually set aside at least an hour a day for writing, usually, before I go to work. Once I get going and start to see it coming alive, I get very motivated and excited. I then become like a writing machine until the project is complete.
