Attilio Napoli

Biography

Attilio is known to family and friends as ‘Till’. He lives in Redcliffe Qld with his wife, and wishes he had a dollar for every time he is asked about Naples. Contrary to what his surname implies, he was born in Genoa, Italy.

He has been writing for over 15 years and enjoys sharing exciting moments with others. Whenever he is enthused or inspired, he lets everyone know – never in a boring way of course (cheeky grin). Attilio just likes to bring people along for the ride. It is a quality he presents in his writing. He writes about the difficulties people encounter as they journey through life, and likes to capture moments we can all relate to.

Attilio has had a varied, and interesting, career. Starting work as an electrician in a steelworks and moving through three departments in the Australian Public Service; with a stint at Bunnings hardware store and as a finance salesman somewhere in between. Along the way, he acquired an Associate Diploma in Social Sciences, and several accreditations in the Learning and Development, Facilitation and Change Management fields.

His drug of choice is music – he says it’s true, music soothes the savage beast. He will listen to anything, depending on the mood he's in. Attilio has discovered the joys of travel, and he can’t get enough of it. He also enjoys most sports, but is most passionate about the round ball game – the real football; he also spends considerable time reading and writing. As you might have deduced, he possesses fine tuned time management skills (more grins).

Smashwords Interview

Before you started writing, what did you do?
I have had a varied, and interesting, career. Starting work as an electrician in a steelworks and moving through three departments in the Australian Public Service; with a stint at a Bunnings warehouse, and as a finance salesman somewhere in between. Along the way, I have acquired an Associate Diploma in Social Sciences, and several accreditations in the Learning and Development and Facilitation fields. The experience gained during this time has proven invaluable in the character and plot development of my books.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a low socio-economic area and was fortunate enough to find my way out later in life. However, I realize not everybody has that opportunity. That fact influences the way I reflect on life and my good fortune. It is what I learned in that background though, that makes me want to write about people and their journeys while defeating life's problems. I am a deep thinker and want to write stories that leave an impression on the reader. I want to leave them with something that resonates with them for a while.
