John Suddath


John Suddath has been a writer for 40 years, including trade and technical journals. He has been a feature writer, business journalist, and publisher in a broad range of fields and subjects. He wrote, edited, and published "Texas Trees", a quarterly regional magazine, for almost 20 years. He is currently a member of the Association of Health Care Journalists. He also was active with the Washington Independent Writers and the North Carolina Writers Network, two of the largest writers' clubs in the nation. John served of the board of directors for the Ruth Sheets Adult Day Care Center in Raleigh, NC and with Friends of Residents of Long-Term Care. He published the 204-page paperback book "Goodbye God, We're Going to Texas" in 2004.

    I may be prejudiced since I heard the author give a presentation about researching and writing the book at a Triangle Area Freelancers meeting. It is essentially a family memoir, but it reads like an engaging novel that just draws you into the story as you learn more about the "characters" and their personalities. She and the publisher did a good job of editing the letters to maintain a narrative flow. I downloaded it as a pdf file to read on my mac, but I may prefer another format. This was my first ebook from Smashwords so I'm still learning.
