Jason B. R. Maxwell

As a 33 spiral-year-old performing poet, and grounded hippy father of two beautiful daughters, I am currently living and dreaming happily in Victoria Australia. I am also studying a dual bachelor of Art In Professional Writing and Publishing and Literature and Composition by long distance learning. My favourite styles include beat and post beat free verse, with subjects that range from political to the spiritual metaphysical to the memoir momentary. I am also currently working on an extended memoir from childhood, trying to bring back all those beautiful dreams me, my brother and my gypsy mother had travelling commune and festival Australia in the 90's. However most of the time I'm just back from a dream of now and loving the great bright scholarship of life itself.

In Order to Bloom
Why writers write, i.e. attempt to bring to reality the wisps of spirit that dreams are, whether they be worldly dreams or otherwise, often with little to (k)no(w) reward in this digital age of the user-consumer, has always fascinated my muze. The process of consciousness, what it means to manifest in the now, is intimately in tune and connected to it. So in its great and ever graceful honour I'd like to present the video version of my poem "In Order to Bloom."

My work is intensely love born, vulnerable, abstract with secret mashings of terabyte glitch, with Astro physics, Buddha, Viking Beat, with Carlos Castenada warrior stories, Letters to myself from the Future, political screams and jazz memoir splashings. It is a work set to the idea of a connected-ness in the universe, a single essence of things that is trying to escape my poets life and shine...

Now there is just something about Fawkner City Park where I spent those days, a well of resonance, of intention for so many people, for better health and meditation or worse war between nature and mad capitalism rush.

This work provides a photo frame into my life as much as it opens up the vortex worlds of my mind. You could call it my attempt at thermals for minds. For eagles. For those who rise within the concepts of love,

This work encompasses the freedom of love, the wisdom of heartbreak, and the powers of protest and fire. The title piece is inspired by the master poet W.B.Yeats, namely his work "The Second Coming" which foretells the transition from a Capitalist ruled world to a naturalist and/or post-apocalyptic one. My work represents the peace and harmony possible after this time of chaos
