Judith E. Pearson, Ph.D.
I am the Habit Maven. I motivate people to stop the habits they hate and start the ones they love. I have over 20 years of experience as licensed psychotherapist and life coach specializing in hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. My practice, Motivational Strategies, Inc. is located in Springfield, Virginia. I help people banish bad habits such as overeating, smoking, negative thinking, worry, insominia, self-sabotage, and procrastination. I help people develop motivation and self-confidence. I also work with phobias and fears.
I am the Executive Director for Certification for the National Board od Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists, as well as a trainer with the American Hypnosis Training Academy in Silver Spring, Maryland. I'm a member of the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis.
As a free-lance writer. I've published over 200 articles and reviews, mostly on the subjects of hypnotherapy and NLP. I'm writing my fourth book. My internationally-acclaimed Weight, Hypotherapy and You Weight Reduction Program manual is a favorite among hypnotherapists and NLP practitioners. My most recent book, Why Do I Keep Doing This!!? is a self-hypnosis manual with an audio CD in which I conduct a self-hypnosis training trance. I've also recorded several hypnosis CDs, mostly for training purposes, but one is available commerically: Discover Your Learning Genius (it's on Amazon).
Coming in late 2013, my next book: Improve Your Writing with NLP. I'll be speaking and blogging on this topic in 2014.
I love to speak to groups about habits, hypnosis, and motivation. I've spoken at international conferences and to local businesses. I'm a Distinguished Toastmaster in Toastmasters International.
I worked as a project manager in corporations while I was getting my degrees and certifications and starting my practice. It was steady work, but not nearly so fascinating as what I do now. I have a passion to help people engage the power of their minds to transform the quality of their lives.
