Julie Hoppe

Biography

I am a mom of three kids. They couldn't be more different in their interests, but they are all pursuing their individual dreams. They are all starting by attending great schools that will help them attain their goals. I am single, and am trying to help them in any way that I can. Since the kids were all born one year apart, I have had a lot of experience in the past several years with looking for colleges and helping the kids find ways to finance their education. I am hoping that my ebooks can help other parents save money and help guide their children.

Smashwords Interview

What is your writing process?
I have spent the last several years researching colleges, looking for ways to save money on colleges, finding the best colleges for my kids' diverse interests, and basically being their advocate. I have found myself telling people about all the things I have learned, so I thought I would write a series of eBooks to share my knowledge. I write in my down time, especially when I am not able to do anything else - like on an airplane to visit the kids. I write the draft then, and look at it more closely a few days later. My editor, Marie Fritz, then takes over and makes it all read more clearly.
How do you approach cover design?
My cover design is easy - I talk to my daughter Stephanie Verish. She is the artist in the family, and has a great eye for design. She is my go-to person for this.
