Jennifer Gulbrandsen

Biography

I need to think of a clever bio beyond telling the world I love to write, I have three kids, and I drink a lot of wine.

Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
Writing was one of the first things I knew I was good at. I always had journals and loved writing stories. I really took an interest in writing in Jr. High when my 7th grade English teacher raved about a horror story I had written. It was the first time I had ever heard the word, 'Talented' used to describe me.
What's the story behind your latest book?
'The Mom Files' is a collection of essays about my kids and motherhood I have written over the last couple of years, and it's a collection of stories I want to publish annually. 'The Secret Life of Lies' is one of the first novels I wrote. The characters of Ava, Wilcox, Maria, and Justin came to me when I was 17. Through the years, the characters and the story have grown up with me, and I think it's one of the best things I've ever written.

Nobody thinks there's anything to celebrity journalism beyond the pretty faces, who's dating who, and what they're wearing. But there's something very sinister going behind the scenes of former popstar Margaret McAdams' life. There's so much more behind the crazy tabloid stories. Missing people and murder for starters. Reporter Blondie Jones is on the case, and it's the scoop that could kill her
