At thirteen my mother died or TB, and for two years I lived with an abuseive alcoholic father. At fifteen I changed my birthcertificat date, and joined the Army. At Walter Reed Army Hospital, I witnessed my first appendectomy, and at that time I decided to be a surgeon.
