Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
I wrote my very first book, a sci-fi short story that probably borrowed too much from Star Wars, when I was 14. I wrote a few more short stories during high school, but then put my writing away during my college years as I was too busy. I came back to writing a few years later with vampire romances... and I haven't stopped writing since!
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I'm French, and lived in the south of France until my early twenties, when I met my husband and moved to the United States. (For the full story, you'll have to subscribe to my newsletter to access my subscribers-only content!)

Other than occasional Frenchisms slipping into my writing, my background mostly appears through a number of my characters who either have French origins or live there during the course of the story. Now and then, I put in a few lines of dialogue in French, too, but I'm always afraid to go overboard and scare my readers so I try to rein that in!
