Kate C. Pemberton
Kate is a writer currently living in Texas. She is very fond of the three Rs, except not aRithmetic, which has been temporarily replaced with a Rutabaga until further notice.
When not writing fiction or about herself in the third person (or writing fiction about herself in the third person), Kate likes to spend time sprawled over her vast collection of print books, hissing, "My preciousssss . . . ."
She'll also occasionally knit instead. But not as often.
Kate is fond of coffee, Neil Gaiman, and pretty pictures, and is unfond of beer, Steinbeck, and pantyhose.

The Grieving Mermaid
by Kate C. Pemberton
Once upon a time, a little mermaid fell in love with a landsman prince. Through great trials and tribulations, she traded her voice for legs and went forth to make the prince fall in love with her.
And her family misses her very much. So much, in fact, that they're willing to make their own dark deal for her life.
A short story of what takes place after the fairy tale.
