Dr. Kathleen Ayers, a licensed psychologist, has worked with individuals with chronic pain since 2003. She and her family moved back to California after living and working in Canada for three years.
What's the story behind your latest book?
We were optimistic about living and working in Canada. After we arrived, the problems with work kept piling up, as did the frustrations. When my husband's 3-year contract was 2/3 over, we decided to look for work elsewhere. We ended up back in California--making it the third time we've moved there!
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I feel more confident, even though I don't have lots of sales. I'm able to get my story out there so others can benefit from what I've learned.
I wish I had this information when I started working with people who have chronic pain. It contains numerous resources for pain-related books, articles, and therapy techniques. Both patients/clients and therapists will find helpful information, suggestions, and techniques. Therapists can also use these resources for individuals and groups. Topics cover aspects of life affected by chronic pain.
