Katje van Loon

Biography

Katje van Loon is an author and poet from British Columbia, Canada. A wild witch trapped in the big city, Katje writes about what zie wishes: to sink into wild spaces, to run with the wolves, to awaken zir warrior heritage.

Someday she hopes to drag her spouse to a small town where everyone will know their names, and disappearing into the woods will be easier than it is in the city.

Pronouns: alternately zie/zir and she/her.

When did you first start writing?
My mother swears on her life that I wrote my first poem when I was 2. I didn't start seriously applying myself to my writing until I was 12, however.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Impatience, mostly.
