All in all, I think this is a great story, and part of an excellent series. I love the style, I love the storyline, and I really like the setting this time on a planet. I am definitely continuing this series! That being said, I did enjoy this book, though I have to say it wasn't as thrilling as the first in the series. I liked that this book was set on a planet, instead of a ship, as the first book was. Marik is a great character, but I was hoping there would be a bit more detail about his past, other than the parts shown to Nadua through her gift. Nadua was hard to like in the beginning. She wasn't able to be consistent, with either her choices or the way she acted. About halfway through, Nadua did eventually become a strong character that I enjoyed. Rex, another demon, and Ava, Queen of Undewla, are introduced to us in this book, and I now have hopes we can see a story or two of their own! Sonya and Ethan's story develops further in this book, and I like how every few chapters there was a "cutscene" where we get updated on their relationship, and the whereabouts of Anya and Sebastian.
  • The Demon's Retribution (Shadow Quest Book 3) on April 12, 2017

From beginning to end, I was hooked. I couldn't put it down! The first half of the story was a bit heartbreaking, knowing Kyra and Cale couldn't be true mates. With Cale pushing her away, I honestly didn't see the happy ending happening. The second half of the book involves an awesome, detailed battle to win the war for Kyra's home planet. I liked all the new characters introduced, like Zoey, an earthling, and Tristan, a dragon. There's so much imagery, and so many characters, but Kiersten Fay brings everything together beautifully! If you haven't read this series, I definitely recommend it!
  • Demon Untamed (Shadow Quest Book 4) on April 12, 2017

I was a bit hesitant to read this book, as we had already seen most of what happened between Sonya and Ethan. But the book is well written, doesn't get dull at any point. And I was glad to read what happened after the war! I really do suggest reading this book if you've read the rest of the series, it's a great read!
  • Racing Hearts (Shadow Quest 4.5) on April 12, 2017

This is a good short read that adds to the Shadow Quest series. Even though it's short, you still get caught up in all the emotions of the characters. It's one of the things I like most in all Kiersten Fay's writings! It only took me about ten or fifteen minutes to read. I suggest reading at least the first two books of the Shadow Quest, since there is snippet in one of them regarding Aiden's mission to race in the Phase Nine.
