He first started writing free blogs on medical disorders seen in the clinic in 2007 on http://kennethkee.blogspot.com.

His purpose in writing these simple guides was for the health education of his patients which is also his dissertation for his Ph.D (Healthcare Administration). He then wrote an autobiography account of his journey as a medical student to family doctor on his other blog http://afamilydoctorstale.blogspot.com

This autobiography account “A Family Doctor’s Tale” was combined with his early “A Simple Guide to Medical Disorders” into a new Wordpress Blog “A Family Doctor’s Tale” on http://ken-med.com.

From which many free articles from the blog was taken and put together into 1000 eBooks.

He apologized for typos and spelling mistakes in his earlier books.

He will endeavor to improve the writing in futures.

Some people have complained that the simple guides are too simple.
For their information they are made simple in order to educate the patients.
The later books go into more details of medical disorders.

He has published 1000 eBooks on various subjects on health, 1 autobiography of his medical journey, another on the autobiography of a Cancer survivor, 2 children stories and one how to study for his nephew and grand-daughter.

The purpose of these simple guides is to educate patient on health disorders and not meant as textbooks.

He does not do any night duty since 2000 ever since Dr Tan had his second stroke.

His clinic is now relocated to the Buona Vista Community Centre.

The 2 units of his original clinic are being demolished to make way for a new Shopping Mall.

He is now doing some blogging and internet surfing (bulletin boards since the 1980's) starting
with the Apple computer and going to PC.

The entire PC is upgraded by himself from XT to the present Pentium duo core.

The present Intel i7 CPU is out of reach at the moment because the CPU is still expensive.

He is also into DIY changing his own toilet cistern and other electric appliance.

His hunger for knowledge has not abated and he is a lifelong learner.

The children have all grown up and there are 2 grandchildren who are even more technically advanced than the grandfather where mobile phones are concerned.

This book is taken from some of the many articles in his blog (now with 740 posts) A Family Doctor’s Tale.

Dr Kee is the author of:

frequent causes of twisted neck are congenital disorders trauma and infections    some studies indicate that people form delusions as a way to deal with extreme stress or deal with a history of trauma    sometimes the doctor may have to do an open reduction of the sc joint    spasms can also be activated by sudden movements loud noise or being touched or when the patient is anxious or upset    spasms can occasionally be strong enough to break bones    spasms due to sps can be very physically powerful and may induce the patient to fall if standing    spinal cord disorders and quadriplegia are another cause for diaphragm paralysis    spinal cord injury and infarction happen less frequently than cerebral infarction stroke but cause significant mortality disability and decreased quality of life in survivors    standard xrays are sufficient to make a diagnosis of acromioclavicular joint injury and should be used to assess for other causes of traumatic shoulder pain    stem cell transplantation treatments possibly combined with growfactors or molecule to improve nerve regrowth may help to treat spinal cord injury    stenosing indicates the narrowing of an opening or passageway in the body    stenosing tenosynovitis trigger finger is the compression of the tendon sheath of one of the tendon to the fingers or thumb    stiff man syndrome is more an autoimmune disease of the neurological disorder that affects the brain and spinal cord causing the person to be stiff due to muscle spasms    stretching the shoulders or moving the upper arm towards the chest horizontal adduction is often painful    surgery is done as a last resort to release the tendon by cutting the top part of the narrowed inflamed sheath    surgery may be essential to relieve the pressure in the eardrum with a small cut    surgery to remove a herniated disk laminectomy may be required if there is danger of the disk impinging on the spinal cord or spinal nerves    surgical trauma after a cervical or a cardiothoracic surgery is another cause for diaphragm paralysis    surgical treatment of superior labral lesions is indicated in patients who have continuous symptoms in spite of 3 months of nonoperative treatment    symptoms are likely to be worse when patients are sitting or lying down particularly in the evening and can be alleviated by standing and walking the injured shoulder hanging lower than normal muscle spasms numbness or weakness    symptoms of trigger finger may also be linked with disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis or diabetes that produce thickening of the sheath or tendon    taking medicines more than 3 days a week may cause rebound headaches    teeth grinding and clenching is felt during sleep and can result in tooth damage and jaw back of the head and neck    tension headaches the most frequent type sense like a constant ache or pressure around the head especially at the temples or back of the head and neck    tetraplegia can cause a loss of control over the bowel and bladder digestion sexual function breathing and other autonomic functions    tetraplegia is a form of paralysis that is produced by some injury or illness and causes complete loss of usage of body and 4 limbs    tetraplegia is inevitably the product of damage high in the spinal cord normally in the cervical spine between c1c7    the abnormal curvature with or without coracoclavicular cc ligament disruption    the antiil5 antibody mepolizumab has recently been proven to be beneficial as a corticosteroidsparing agent    the arm and shoulder will likely have reduced range of movement    the breathing in diaphragm paralysis is very labored since these other muscles are not as physically powerful as the diaphragm    the characteristic blisters and rashes show up later normally one or two days after the fever begins    the cobb angle is the favored method of measuring kyphosis from an xray    the current treatment would include administering intravenous fluid bolus with 10 dextrose at 2 mlkg in neonates or larger boluses in older children    the diagnosis of distal clavicle osteolysis can normally be made by physical examination even though imaging tests may be done to confirm the diagnosis    the diagnosis of tos is essentially based on the medical history physical examination provocative tests and ultrasound radiological evaluation and electrodiagnostic evaluation    the digestive tract can be influenced by the change in spine shape caused by poor posture    the doctor can evaluate the stability of the ac joint with anteriorposterior mobility acromioclavicular ligament and vertical mobility coracoclavicular ligaments    the doctor may advise the patient participate in an overnight sleep study polysomnography to track the brain waves and breathing during sleep    the doctor may also give carbonic anhydrase inhibitors and potassium supplements    the doctor may give stimulants and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors if narcolepsy is the underlying disorder    the doctor may obtain a throat swab or stool specimen that can be tested for the virus or bacteria    the doctor should admit all patients with an acute spinal cord injury sci to hospital    the doctor should treat fever symptoms and prevent dehydration and relieve the symptoms    the doctor should treat symptoms such as fever itch pain and treatment is normally straightforward rice rest ice compression elevation taking an antiinflammatory and physical therapy    the herpes viruses herpes simplex cytomegalovirus epstein barr virus varicella and human herpesvirus 6 and 7 remain in the child for a lifetime    the ice cream headache causes a sharp stabbing pain in the forehead that peaks about 30 to 60 seconds after it begins    the inability to fully open the mouth may produce difficulty in speaking and eating    the infection is normally not serious and normally affects children between the ages of 6 months and 2 years    the initial treatment is to try to put the joint back into place or reduction    the injuries of the floating shoulder are produced by trauma from motor vehicle or bike accidents falls crushing of the shoulder    the main laboratory studies are analysis of organic acids plasma carnitine acylcarnitines and urine acylglycine analysis mutation analysis or measurement of specific enzyme activity    the collarbone    the most frequent symptom of an sc joint disorder is the sensation of pain in the area where the clavicle joins the sternum    the nexus cspine criteria advise imaging if there is posterior midline cervicalspine tenderness focal deficits altered mental status intoxication or distracting injuries    the patient feels cycles of headache attacks accompanied by headachefree periods    the patient is likely to awaken almost every morning feeling as if he or she did not get enough sleep and often the patient wakes up a lot at night for no apparent reason    the patient may also have pain tenderness edema and ecchymosis over the involved joint space    the patient may not feel pregnant with negative urine and blood pregnancy tests continued menses weight loss    the patient should take relaxation techniques and regular exercise to prevent stress and tension in the neck muscles and learn stretching exercises for the neck and upper body    the patient with temporal lobe epilepsy are more likely to have hallucinations    the person should also avoid sitting down after a meal to watch the tv and should take a walk instead to help the movement of the food through the stomach    the purpose is to treat the headache symptoms instantly and to prevent headaches by avoiding or changing the stimuli    the purposes of treatment are relief of symptoms and prevention of further paralysis attacks    the respiratory syncytial virus goes into the body through the nose or mouth or very often through the eyes    the scapula appear to hang or to suspend from the clavicle by the coracoclavicular ligaments and the acromioclavicular joint    the sensation of neck pain can range from mild discomfort to severe disabling chronic pain    the shoulder dislocates out of place and appears like it is floating    the skin of the neck may be torn and bleeding must be stopped    the skin rash is pink in color and can be flat or raised    the source of low sodium must be always diagnosed and treated    the start is normally sudden with painful spasm of the neck muscles often without obvious precipitating cause    the state of rumination is more frequent in people who are pessimistic and who have negative attribution styles    the stomach or abdomen may be moved forward inducing eating and breathing disorders    the superior shoulder suspensory complex sssc ring comprises the middle and distal clavicle coracoclavicular and acromioclavicular ligaments acromion coracoid process and glenoid    the symptom of ice cream headache is a sharp and sudden start of pain in the frontal part of the head    the symptoms of fods are linked to the poor energy production and the effects of the toxic buildup of waste products    the treatment is directed at treating the patients loss of functioning and sensation in the paralyzed regions of the body and also loss or impairment in any functioning of the organ    the treatment of delusional disorder often involves both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy    the treatment of hallucinations may involve psychotherapy and taking medicine to treat a health disorder    the treatment of hyperkalemia is dependent upon the underlying cause of the hyperkalemia    the treatment of jaw pain is dependent on the cause    the treatment starts with exercise programs and the physical therapy to strengthen chest muscles restore normal posture and alleviate compression    the treatments for cervical spondylosis focus on providing pain relief reducing the risk of permanent injury and helping the patient lead a normal life    the undisplaced or minimally displaced fracture can be treated nonoperatively with rest ice painkillers sling    the universal sign of night terrors is inconsolability the same as that of a panic control over any part of the body with loss of control of the bladder or bowels incontinence or retention    these are intramuscular fibrous bands within the deltoid muscle that produce secondary contractures that affect the shoulder joint function and stiffness of the deltoid muscle    they are monitored by hormones like renin from the kidney angiotensin from the lung brain and heart aldosterone from the adrenal gland antidiuretic hormone from the pituitary    they may also have breathing problems due to extra bone formation around the rib cage that limits the expansion of the lungs    this disorder may be the result of repeated strain of this area due to work or hobby activities    this rise in blood volume and resulting rise in size in anterior cerebral artery is thought to bring on the ice cream headache    thunderclap headache can also be a sign of very serious underlying disorders that involve bleeding in and around the brain    thunderclap headache is often described as the worse headache of ones life    torticollis is an abnormal appearance of the head and neck normally presenting with abnormal slope and rotation    torticollis is posttraumatic 10 to 20 of the time the remainder is idiopathic    torticollis may be benign congenital torticollis but may also be caused by dangerous disorders such as brain injury    tractiontype injuries happen secondary to sudden jerking movements or after lifting heavy objects    traditional treatments with stretching or physical therapy are not helpful    trauma or injury to the neck resulting in a broken neck or fracture of the cervical vertebrae such as a car crash sports injury or a fall causes tetraplegia    treatment for the prevention of cluster headaches is a suboccipital blockade with a combination of anesthetic and steroid    treatment involves surgical release of the joint    treatment is by braces and surgical fusion and osteotomy    treatment methods are observation diaphragmatic plication
