The Faeries of Birchover Wood - The Bad
on Jan. 25, 2013
Kings, dragons, faeries and the ultimate evil referred to as simply, the Bad - it has all the makings of an epic fantasy adventure, and it delivers! It may be listed as a children's book, but all fans of fantasy/adventure, regardless of age, will be drawn into the wonderful world the author has created.
The Bad has been defeated and imprisoned by magic in the trunk of a giant tree... but the magic is failing. In our modern world people have forgotten all about faeries and dragons, and as each person forgets the magic weakens just a little bit more.
Our main character is not a mighty king, a brave knight or a powerful wizard. He's not even old enough to have a driver's license - he is eight year old Soloman. He and his parents move to their new home in Birchover Village and as Soloman explores the forest behind their property he soon discovers it is home to magical creatures. The Bad is getting close to breaking the magic that binds him to the tree. Soloman and his parents, along with the faeries and other mythical creatures, must band together to try and stop the Bad before it destroys the world.
The Fearies of Birchover Wood is an incredible fantasy/adventure story. I listened to the audio book version and was swept into the adventure early and the author held my attention until the final scene. It's a wonderful, mythical adventure that will capture your heart and imagination.
