Ken Smyth loathes writing about himself in the third person. He was born and raised in the San Francisco suburb of Concord CA. He and his wife Teri still live in the same area in their new roles as ecstatically unencumbered empty-nesters. Ken is surrounded by a wealth of friends and family, which provide his greatest joys in life. Writing has always been Ken's creative passion to offset his overly methodical and boring nature. Ken is logical to a fault, so writing has always offered the yin to his otherwise yang-encrusted mentality.
Ken also loathes biographical summaries. He believes that superficial connections between 2 people hold little value in life.
The single most important asset for an autistic child is having a healthy, confident parent. When Ken realized that he was ill-equipped to parent his autistic son, he embarked on a journey of personal transformation. That 16 year journey was filled with lessons of humility, acceptance, and growth. Andrewtism chronicles those lessons and the moments of humor, strife, and poignancy.
