The Gauntlet is a short story about one of the characters in the Cassie Palmer series, Kit Marlow.
There isn't much about Kit's background in the series, so having this short story about his early years is great!
I never liked Kit Marlow much in the Cassie Palmer books. But after reading Gauntlet and The Queen's Witch, about Kit Marlow's early days as a vampire, I've seen another side of him and I liked what I saw.
The Day of the Dead is a free short story about Tomas, one of the vampires in the Cassie Palmer series. I was really curious to know what Tomas did before he reappeared again in the series.
Well, after reading this short story I know. I really love Tomas in the Cassie Palmer series and it was great to read more about him and his past.
I just love Pritkin so reading this additional free short story about him was a treat.
In A Family Affair, Pritkin is going on a mission for his father. If Pritkin fulfills the mission Rosier promises to stop hunting Cassie.
Off course the mission goes wrong... nothing new here with Pritkin... and off course when Cassie finds out what Pritkin's up to, she has to go help him and get's herself into trouble, which is also nothing new.
So A Family Affair is the typical Pritkin - Cassie mess which is why I love this short story so much!
I got this book from the author to thank me for being a supporter of his Blue Fire Saga.
Mine: A Love Story is very well written in the same style I love so much in the Blue Fire Saga. It's the story of Heather and her first year of Uni, a story of friendship, romance, heartbreak.
The only reason I'm not giving this story 5 stars is because I had a constant feeling of deja-vu... a lot of the scenes seemed to come straight out of Breathless, the 1st Blue Fire Saga book.
Shadowland is a free, it can be read online on Karen Chance's site or downloaded on Smashwords.
Shadowland was a nice addition to the Cassie Palmer series.
Cassie's life is in danger (again!) and when she tries not being killed something goes wrong (nothing new there either LOL, it's Cassie we're talking about).
Pritkin, thinking Cassie is dead, goes to the Shadowlands to avenge Cassie's death.
Don't read this short story if you haven't read the first 4 books of the series cause it contains some spoilers.
This book is an amazing collection of short stories with all sorts of supernatural creatures.
Cthulhu's Daughter is about Lulu and she has an obsession with the sea... is it madness or are there really voices calling to her...
Flesh and Circuits is my favorite story in this collection! It is set somewhere in a future where there are humanoid, sentient robots who are servants. Henrietta is an older model who might be destroyed in the near future... but her life changes when she starts her new job as a nanny for 7-year-old Andy.
The Two Mothers, Elise is a vampire who has but one dream... to have a child.
Fleeing... this story is about an unnamed soldier in a war who encounters werewolves.
Amunet is about an archaeologist who becomes obsessed with the mummy of a mysterious Egyptian Queen. Mathilda, his wife, and Bessie, his daughter, are scared of the darkness that the mummy brings in their home... and they should be...
Stop Requested is a story I already read in the back of The Living Dead Boy but this story is so cute I read it again. It's the start of the zombie apocalypse but what makes this story so special it that it is written in the POV of a guide dog, Bonnie, doing everything she can to get her blind master to safety.
The Key... Susan terrified of mirrors... not because of the image they reflect but she's scared of what lives behind the mirror!
