I really enjoyed reading "Kithryn Mythrin" The author already wrote an accurate synopsis of the book and I dont want to give away any spoilers so ill limit my review to what made the book enjoyable for me. There was very good character development. The main characters, while not your typical teenagers, are teenagers. And like all teenagers they can tend to be know it alls which the author captured well. It makes for some comical moments. There is also character growth, especially with Johnny. Although not the hero of the story, Johnny reminded me of a whiny Luke Skywalker that is thrust into a world where he has to grow up. Another thing I liked was the style in how the book was written. The author uses Kit, the hero of the story, to break the fourth wall with the reader. It feels as if you're sitting with Kit around a fire and she is telling you a story. As you are reading, and something new pops out that needs an explanation, Kit pauses the story as if reading your mind to explain things to you. Even better she sometimes acts as if you paused the story and scolds you that, yes she will explain, but she is kind of busy right now! This was all well done and made for some humorous moments. There was also artwork that was very well done that captured the characters and helped draw you into the story. All and all a good read.
