Tsegaye Abraha

Biography

In August 2010, I moved to New York City after retiring from my job in Sweden. I had worked with a company that provided technical service to one of the biggest hospitals in Stockholm, Sodersjukhuset (translated to The South Hospital). My expertise were intercoms and pagers. Nothing to do with cooking, which is and has been a hobby of mine for a long time.

It was my youngest daughter’s idea and encouragement that led me to Senior Planet; a wonderful service run by OATS, with the irresistible motto “aging with attitude.” At Senior Planet, people who are 60+ learn how to use computer programs and all the gadgets that come along with them. I myself took several courses, the latest being eCommerce (online business). I needed a project and decided to put ‘fingers to keyboard’ and record some of my favorite meals that I have cooked over the years, as well as some new experiments. This eBook is the result. Enjoy!

Of course it is cool to go out to Restaurants and dine. My intention by writing this booklet is, to give people who try new things in other cultures a chance. I chose Ethiopian food because that is where I grew up. I hope with these recipes you can surprise your friends. For the sake of variety I have added some European dishes.
