  • The Last Pendragon Saga Volume 1 (The Last Pendragon Saga Boxed Set) on Oct. 11, 2010

I love, love, love this book! I am so bummed that the author only has one other published book. I am tempted to say that it ended quickly, but I can't think of anything else that needed to be in the book after the climax/resolution. The characters were well written, the plot enjoyable, and it was a good long read. I found myself not wanting to read the end, just because it would be over then. Sign of a good book.
  • Take Control - Erotica Romance Short Story on Oct. 25, 2010

I would classify it as Men's Erotica - there's really no romance at all, just a whole lot of sex. There's nothing bad with that, per se, but as a woman, the whole situation just seemed unbelievable. This is a story about a woman who is exactly what he wants. There were a few typos. I did have a hard time getting past the urban language - the club was slammin', tipping the bouncer a 10-spot, etc. That said, it's not a bad story. There could be more character development, sure, but it's a short story and something has to be sacrificed. If you're looking for a quick read and some hot action, this might be the book for you.
  • Uprising on Oct. 25, 2010

Fabulous! I was pleasantly surprised with how long this book is - so many of the free ebooks can be read within an hour. I really like the alternate universe Kemppainen has created, and can't wait to read more about it. I agree that the ending wasn't what I wanted necessarily, but I had already read on his website that he is planning on writing another book, so I assumed that things wouldn't be all wrapped up in the end. The way the numerous storylines are woven together is excellent, and the character development is masterful. I didn't figure out the ending halfway into the story, which was really nice. It was hard to tell what side some of the characters were on, even until the end, and it had me guessing about what would happen throughout the story.
  • Amulet on Oct. 25, 2010

Very enjoyable read. The characters are realistic and likeable (well, the ones that you're supposed to like, that is). I love the author's intro where he says he tried to write a story without a plot but one accidentally made its way in. The plot is well developed and all the loose ends are tied up by the end. It's sexy and sweet and romantic.
  • Dancing on Nov. 15, 2010

I don't generally enjoy vamp fiction, but if you do, this might be a nice short read for you.
  • Alinora on Nov. 15, 2010

Excellent story! You spend a lot of time wondering what is going on (is she crazy? is the dream world real?), and after that gets resolved there's still more story left to go, which was nice. A very enjoyable read.

    Short but good.
  • The Mating: The Original Law of the Lycans Story on Dec. 02, 2010

Really enjoyable, and quite long. The only thing I didn't like was that it seemed like Elise should have figured things out sooner than she did, but maybe that was just me. I stayed up late reading this for about a week, I enjoyed it so much. Looking forward to reading The Keeping next.
  • Tanaquill on Dec. 02, 2010

I loved this book! Great combination of romance and fantasy and historical fiction. Rachel's review is correct - beautiful story and world, characters have depth, and you're not quite sure if it's all going to work out or not.
