Peter McKimm was born in Sherries, Co.Dublin in 1930 and later moved to Blackrock where he has lived ever since. After retiring as secretary of the Irish Dairy Board in 1990, he and his late wife, Marie, travelled world wide garnered background for his writing. He was a member of the Irish Writers Union(Chairman in 2005-2006). He enjoys the game of golf and fishing. He has a daughter and three sons and ten grandchildren.
