Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes! Remember the Little Golden Books? "Heidi" was the first story I read independently. I admired Heidi's bravery and I wanted to be adventurous just like her. I also recall imagining I was playing with goats on a flower covered mountain. Great story!
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Southeast Washington, D.C. Where I came from has greatly influenced my style of writing. I write gritty, realistic, and fast paced stories that resemble many different scenarios I've witnessed and experienced.
