Kierstin Palcek is a multidimensional new adult fiction writer and Full Sail University graduate. Her main focus in her writing is the art of losing and finding the person inside you through love and loss. Although a Chicago born native, she was born with the wandering gene and currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kierstin’s interest in writing began in her second grade year when asked to submit a story into a Scholastic Achievement contest. “Boo Bear and his Bad Idea,” transpired. It was about her younger brothers teddy bear who wanted honey so bad he climbed a tree in the middle of the night and got stuck. That story won an award and the love for writing began there.
Although originally a pre-law major, the passion she holds for writing took ahold and drove her to become an English major at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. A family illness caused her to return to Chicago after only one semester and that is when she found out about Full Sail. Gifted with the opportunity to travel, she plans to use the new experiences as fuel for her writing. Overcoming the challenges of Bipolar disorder, she hopes that her writing will reach out to the hearts of others who are struggling and bring them to want to be happy and healthy again.
Graduating with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Creative Writing for Entertainment, she plans to go into editing and publishing while working on the manuscript for her current novel. The novel, Jamestown Story, is about a city girl moving to a country town with hopes of finding herself, but she meets two men whom she falls for and it becomes a tale of overcoming fears and opening her heart again. Kierstin pulls inspiration from her own experiences as well as the observations of those close around her.
