Smashwords Interview

What motivated you to become an indie author?
I started penning the Full Circle Trilogy nearly five years ago, and would put it down for months at a time and re-visit it when I had the time, once I finally finished Part I, I started looking for a publisher. Writing a book is an accomplishment but getting published brings you to a whole other level. I found several publishers showing interest but they all wanted a steep percentage, it was ridiculous the amount of money they wanted to make, needless to say it was their money they would be investing but it still didn't seem fair so I kept passing on the deal, and at the time, I didn't want to self publish so I just kept writing and sat on the content. Now, today, it's no longer suicide to self publish, and is the thing to do. There are people making a nice living by penning and peddling their work on the Internet.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I get to create characters and bring them in any direction I want, plus I make my own hours.
