Kyle J. Anderson

Hello all, and welcome to my profile! I became an indie author in 2010 with the release of my first poetry collection, "Skin: A Collection of Poems." Since then, I've written three novels and three other collections of poetry (not including my 'best of' poetry collection). I write for the thrill and enjoyment, and being indie has allowed me to have full creative control over everything that I do. Of course, being represented professionally and on a larger scale is a dream, but I'm content for now.

When I'm not writing, I'm working at my day job, working out, or just having a quiet evening in. I have a dog named Pippin who sits on my lap while I write, and gets mad at me when I don't come to bed due to writing until the wee hours of the morning. Thank you all for visiting! Happy reading!

Smashwords Interview

What made you want to write "Blackout" and how is it different from what is currently on the market?
I've always gravitated toward pure fiction and wanted to venture into that world. I wrote what I knew and mixed with this alternate universe of ideas that I had been carrying around for some time and what transpired is this novel. I think what makes it different is that it's completely original and although there are multiple psychological thrillers out there, there isn't one that feels quite as real as this. You get pulled in, just like the main character, Quentin.
What do you read for pleasure?
Anything that really gets my ideas flowing and novels that take you to a different world. For example, The Hunger Games. I love a strong female lead and that series is just genius.

"Blackout" is the surreal representation of the darkness, and its enticing nature finds the main character, Quentin, in the grasp of Dark Lady, the queen of the fictional city of Blackout. The lines between real and fantasy blur in this coming of age novel, penned by the rising author Kyle J. Anderson. There is no turning back.
