Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Scotland is incredibly beautiful and is rich in nature, colour and history. I think that this has had an incredible effect on my sensitivity and reception to my environment. If I was to grow up somewhere quite boring I feel I would have lacked interest and inspiration.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
It's very important for me to be able to express myself through art. I believe that self discipline should be the only boundary that we need when it comes to being true to ourselves. I want to say what I have to say, and I want to say it exactly how I want it to be said. I don't want to be filtered, edited or told that what I have to say isn't what people are looking for. People are always looking to connect with others, I know that my work will connect with audiences too. I do believe the way I create my art currently doesn't fit into mainstream conventions and that's perfectly okay with me for now. I'm not driven by fame or money, I am driven by expression and purpose.
