What is your e-reading device of choice?
My ipad is with me everywhere. The Kindle app is the most used platform. Of course I still have a very big place in my heart for old fashioned paper though. I always will.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Well, where shall I start? A few years in Alaska with a stopover in Detroit. Mix in upstate Illinois and polish it of with a touch of Los Angeles. I like the places I've been. They made indellible impressions on me that are lifelong. They are the very fabric of my writing. Writing is place to me. Once I have a scene and I know where my characters are, I can fill pages. So in that respect I see myself visiting the places of my youth in my stories and spending time in those familiar places so that I can interact with old friends. As a child our imaginations seem limitless. That for me is where I turn to think about stories to tell.
