A Teacher in the Highlands of Scotland since 1973 and now retired in Inverness. I spent some time thinking and wrote 2 poetry books over a long period of time..Reflections looking outwards, Refraction looking inwards and will write Regression looking through the eyes of my youth shedding light for myself and perhaps anyone with similar experiences
When did you first start writing?
I began about nine years of age with my Aunt Margaret a primary school teacher who encouraged me to write a story about clocks.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I am hoping to turn my present efforts in reflections and refraction into a series under the title..the catching pen which was an expression used by a farmer friend of my father from Beldorney, Glass; the irony is that the pen does catch our lives in all our changes till we end up in the catching pen like the poor sheep do. I worked on a farm in Thurso with David Lockie, Murkle and learners a great deal there.
poems I have written over a period of many years. It is one of three books following periods in my life.
The second book is called refraction when I began to look inwards
The third called regression looks back to the child in me
