  • Chasing Shadows on Aug. 04, 2011

Chasing Shadows is a exciting read. It joins together the thrill of the paranormal and the mystery of the unknown in such a way that you find yourself caught up in the world of Meegan Jones. We've all seen things out of the corner of our eye, jumped at shadows, and had dreams that seemed so real we couldn't shake them. The main character was easy to relate to and more realistic than most fictional characters. She reacts to situations with the intelligence that most female characters in fiction seem to lack. As the plot unfolded I found myself unable to put it down. I wanted to know what would happen next. The characters are well rounded and diverse, all with their own distinct voice and mannerisms.

The characters are well rounded and easy to relate to, even if they aren't entirely human. I love Meegan's new invisible friends and her new relationships. A great read, kept me wanting more!

A break from the paranormal and a straight up mystery. Although it is a quick read, it has twists and turns that I didn't see coming. The emotional depth of the main character was amazing. As a person with bipolar disorder, I appreciate the research and accuracy of the depiction of Avery. An excellent read, even if some of the subject matter is a little dark. Loved the ending!

Following Meegan in her latest paranormal/fae shenanigans is an entertaining adventure. She doesn't always know what she is doing, but by God she is going to do it the best she can. Her love for her monstrous friends endeared them to me. I can't help but want my own filth to love. Meegan isn't an all powerful superhero, she is just making the best of what she's got. She can make it through anything, as long as she has Pain, Luck, coffee, and a few smokes. Keep them coming!
