Axel is a photographer, artist, author, and technologist living in Central Oregon. He works primarily with medium and large format film photography, and conducts seminars, exhibits, and talks on a regular basis.

In 1973, Canon released a revolutionary new camera called the Canon EF. It was unlike any other single lens reflex (SLR) camera of the time. It was the first SLR to incorporate automatic exposure. Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful cameras ever made, the EF was produced only in gorgeous black enamel paint, with the same professional quality as the Canon F-1 camera.
