Evolution of Insanity

This author has a wonderful way of making you think about, and observe, your world around you. I felt like I was in Chicago, and though I have only spent a few months there, I have watched a lot of thses types of antics go on around me. If we could slow our world down, and really pay attention, what would we see? And would the seeing bring us closer to understanding? Or would it bring us closer to our own insanity--and there is where you find, The Evolution of Insanity. I have not enjoyed reading something so much in my life. I believe we'll be listening to Heresh Daswani on great talk shows, like Chicago on NPR, showing his delightful insights, for many years to come. I easily gave this book 5 stars

A Job From Hell (Ancient Legends Book 1)

An amazing read, I was held in suspense by Jayde Scott's novel, A Job From Hell, from the first page until the last. Set in Scotland, modern day, A Job From hell is about a young woman whose brother helps her to get a job as a housekeeper to fund her way through college, but from the time she steps out of the cab to face the old mansion, you are trying not to chew your nails wondering what will happen next. She is thrown into one suspense filled situation after another, and from the moment she learns who her employer really is, until you turn the last page, this page-turning novel is impossible to put down. I loved reading A job From Hell. I am adding Jayde Scott to my list of favorite authors, and I look forward to catching up on her past novels as much as I am looking forward to her future work. I highly recommend, A Job from Hell, and I easily give it 5 stars.

Voodoo Kiss (Ancient Legends Book 3)

Lenore Wolfe's review Jan 24, 12 · edit Read in January, 2012 In my review of Doomed, I didn't want to give away the loss Cass was forced to endure, as I felt this was one of the major cliff hangers of Doomed and would have needed a spoiler alert, which I steer clear of, so I'm banking on the fact that everyone has read the first two books of this series before reading this one. Jayde is a wonderful writer, and Voodoo's Kiss was the best one in the series yet. I was creeped out by Gael, and the danger I sensed with him sucked me into the story immediately. In Voodoo's Kiss, Cass needs Sofia to remember her past life as a Voodoo priestess so that she might save her love, who was killed by a vampire in the second book, and break the curse placed on her. You get pulled into this fast paced novel, by Sofia, who keeps getting warned by a crow, can see a demon, one who she's deeply attracted to from the moment she first sets eyes on him, and by the witty Cass, who is a fallen angel, and who is cursed to be a reaper, and then by the vampires from the past books. Throw in lots of wit and humor, and you have one powerful read. But I was also deeply impressed by the depth of emotion that Sophis showed in her grief and the edge of the sanity, insanity we sometimes walk in our grief, and I enjoyed the deeper spiritual meanings woven into this story as well. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves paranormal and fantasy novels alike, and give this series 5 stars as a must read.
