Johanna Schindell is the mother of four amazing grown children and the “Meema” of a beautiful grand-baby she calls her “Jem.” She and her family reside in sunny Florida along with her three best friends: her German Shepherds Saron and Terra; and her sweet, brilliant Quarter horse Wolfe.
Johanna has owned, loved, and cherished horses her entire lifetime. She has always found solace in riding and caring for her equine family. She loves spending her days writing, eating, and playing with baby Jem and her four-leggers on the glorious beaches of Florida's east coast. That is, when she's not busy rescuing, rehabilitating and loving all creatures great and small. Often you will find her spontaneously volunteering for grand adventures she's not quite young or experienced enough to participate in. Although that's never stopped her before.
Johanna is working feverishly on her next novel which is a continuation of “Spotted Her First,” and her family. Johanna hopes to complete it for release in the summer of 2018.
Based on a true story─It’s three below zero in the scant shelter of a mountainous, leaf-barren forest and what remains of the beautiful leopard Appaloosa mare “Spotted Her First,” stands against the ice-filled wind. Her thin, scarred body shivers uncontrollably; her knees weaken and buckle as the last of her strength slowly yields to the persistent offerings of a warm, quiet peace
