Though the concept of the book is good there is a lot of missing punctuation and some words where they are not supposed to be, like instead of followed it says fallowed. Needs some more work but it could be a good read.
I too believe that it was just the opening but it was a very good start and I also read the excerpt at the end for Swamp of Bones and sounds awesome, what I have read so far I think you will see a lot of good books from this author.
It was amazing one of the best zombie books I have read. You assume that he is taking advantage of this woman but in the end you get to find out that so isn't true. I can't wait for more from this author.
I truly enjoyed this book. The author wrote the book with enough detail that you can actually envision groups of people acting that way, if there ever was a catastrophic event. These children are being tortured by the world and in the end they die in a horrific way. But there are some that take what they are handed and make a whole new life, only to have death knock on their door.
This story takes you back to slavery, to lies deceit and betrayal. There are moments where it lulls but it picks back up and keeps you interested till the very end. The author is amazing at giving you vivid details, making you see every gory moment.
This book was good. It wasn't just some ordinary zombie book. The "Stems" ( altered by a device that aids in mood, looks and eating) are pretty much the upper class, while "Pukes" which the Stems think are scum on their shoes; are trying to get by with eating anything they can find.Soon though an apocalyptic event turns everything around.
It is a good zombie book. The characters were well developed along with the story. The ending was expected but it didn't deter me to stop reading. Yes there was grammatical errors here and there but over all a good read.
I thought this book was good. I too had gotten it before it was re-released, so I find the author has a great talent of descriptive words so well put that you could "see" this happening. All of these humans that survived the war have make it through a deserted wasteland of misery.
There are errors but you can pass over them. It is a weird book but it does have an underlying message, dont go with strangers no matter what they say. I felt sorry for Nate, his dad has a new family and no time for him. So at the end of a game Nate's whole life changes and not for the better. So now in this whole new world he has to depend on new friends and himself to get them out of corn chip hell.
