What is your writing process?
It is a little like standing in the waves of the ocean. Sometimes there are big waves and sometimes small ones... sometimes none, a lull, if you will. I try not to force the creative process because I wish for everything I write to feel genuine and authentic. Sometimes I use music I have an emotional connection with to get into the flow.
How do you approach cover design?
I obviously did extensive research into the matter and I found for me, less is more. I have a 'feel' in my mind that I wish for the book to communicate to the reader and then try to find the symbology and colors to communicate exactly that. My final book cover is the end results of thorough research, one or two failed designs until I arrived at the place where I felt it is the best it can be. I also gauge other people's reactions by showing them the cover and watching for the reaction in the first few seconds. If they look disinterested or boring - the cover is not interesting and boring.
