A great read! Although it may have a slow start it's also an immediate and compelling entry into the Medieval world which Jean inhabits. I became immersed in the two concurrent stories as they unfolded. There were small mysteries along the way to enjoy as well as the imagery of a different time and place. The writing is spot on , transporting me from my comfortable life to the rigours, hardships, drama and small pleasures of a pilgrimage. On top of that is the twist in the tale which i DID NOT see coming, although when I look back the clues were there all along. I've now read all Trevor Whittons books and enjoyed them all- thought it was time to do the author the courtesy of reviewing them all.
