Kristen Caven


Kristen Caven is a multi-disciplinary writer living in Oakland, California. She is noted for her offbeat humor, revelatory insight, and constructive creativity. Working in a variety of media (books, magazines, cartooning, playwriting, lyrics) and a variety of genres (memoir, fiction, non-fiction, self-help, fairytale), she explores art, knowledge, self-determination, family issues and human interaction. Caven has published of a cartooning memoir entitled Perfectly Revolting (2010), a graphic novel collection entitled The Reason She Left (2011), and a novella based on a musical, The Souls of Her Feet (2013). She has co-authored several books with her mother, Dr. Louise Hart, including On the Wings of Self-Esteem (2010) and The Bullying Antidote (2013). Learn more at
