Elizabeth Gray

Biography

I've been writing and singing poems since I was eight: my first one was on the beach and began 'rain is my silver, sunshine is my gold.' Nowadays I write both serious and comic verse, much of it rhyming but some free verse. I like to do unusual things with limericks and I'm extremely fond of a sonnet.
I live in Leicester, which is about as far as you can get from the sea in Britain

Tomatoes has been running for more than 5 years at the Church of the Martyrs: a place to chill out on a Saturday morning with a full cooked breakfast; newspapers, live music, children’s activities - and to talk about our lives. It’s a place for being Christian community, seasoned with words of faith and times of quiet prayer. In the last year Tomatoes has also become a place for creative verse.
