Calleja begins his book, appropriately, with a beautiful painting of Our Lady (entitled, "In Her Silence") reproduced on the cover. This work is a well-written personal testimonial of a special relationship with the Mother of God. The Christian understanding of silence is edifying. In the case of Our Blessed Mother, there is much silence from her in Scripture. She speaks last at Cana, “Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye.” [Jn 2: 5] Mary always leads us to Jesus and His Church. In "Her Silence," Calleja tells us of many Marian moments in his life. Such as his love of Fatima, his prayer groups, and his years doing missionary work. Mary's fiat, trust, and faithful obedience bring hope and love to the author. Ultimately, the author encourages us toward a deeper relationship with Mary - "to discover Mary in one’s life." This book is a thoughtful personal statement.
